Sandra G. Franklin is director of Emory University’s Woodruff Health Sciences Center Library, Atlanta, GA. The library includes clinical branches at four teaching hospitals. Since joining the Emory Libraries in 1983, Sandra has served as Reference Librarian, Head of Public Services, Assistant Director, Associate Director, and Director since 2002.
During her career at Emory, Sandra has witnessed the transition from print to electronic resources and the re-purposing of space, giving oversight to a half million dollar renovation project in 2011. She also instituted a shift from traditional reference services to informationist services in research, life sciences, and public health. She has grown clinical informationist services with the expanding healthcare enterprise.
